Emma Kanter is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY and Los Angeles, CA. Emma has been working in film, television, and commercial production for eight years. When not on industry TV & Film sets, Emma directs, produces, and edits music videos, fashion films, and short narrative films. The thousands of hours spent on professional sets, along with an extensive background in low-budget, indie filmmaking translates to a production savvy and incredible worth ethic. She excels in collaborating with artists on a unique vision that enhances their art with visuals and narrative that set them apart from the onslaught of rote digital video content.
Emma is an avid traveler and in 2016 she spent 5 weeks volunteering in a refugee camp in mainland Greece where she filmed a series of interviews with refugees telling the story of their involuntary encampment in their own words. The resulting documentary "While We Wait" is currently in post-production.
Currently Emma is developing a television pilot and a feature length screenplay in LA, where she works as Script Coordinator for the ABC show, Station 19.
